Phew!
Do you see all the purple sticky notes in this photo? About a week ago, I “borrowed” a pack of notes from my youngest daughter, and I used them as I undertook the fifth and final draft of Healed on the Inside. Whenever I found something I needed/wanted to change, I marked the spot with a sticky note.
As the writer Gene Fowler once said, “A book is never finished; it's abandoned.”
I don’t know if I agree that finishing writing a book is the same as abandoning it, but you do have to put your pen down (or keyboard away) at some point and kick the book out of your home. There are always changes you can make, but there comes a time when you simply have to kiss the book on the cheek and wish it good luck as it ventures into the world. That time is now with Healed on the Inside, a book that has become a part of me, a book I've poured my heart and soul into.
I have finished the final draft and made all the necessary changes. It should be available as a hardcover, paperback, and digital version within the next week!
