God answered a prayer at Publix
I was standing in line at the express lane at Publix in Bartow, FL when God answered a prayer this morning. No, He didn't hand me one of Publix's delicious chicken tender subs. And, yes, I was buying copies of The Ledger, our area's daily newspaper, with an image of my new book large and in charge on the front page. But that's not it, either.
"Look at this," the cashier said to the bagger as she handed him my newspapers to bag. She pointed to the bottom of the front page. "Bartow's hospital is expanding."
The bagger nodded and looked at the story. "That's cool."
I couldn't help myself. "How about the story at the top of the page?" I asked.
The bagger examined the picture and headline: "I want to find the good things." The cashier also grabbed one of the papers and checked it out.
"That's me," I said with a smile.
"That's you?" asked the bagger. "With all the tattoos?"
"Yep. That's me. It's a story about my book and how I leaned on God to fight cancer."
"Oh wow," the bagger and cashier said in unison. "That's cool."
"God is amazing," I said. "He's always there for us."
"You're absolutely right," the bagger said. He reached out and shook my hand. "God bless you. God is so good."
"Yes, He is," agreed the cashier as other shoppers listened.
"Have a great day, guys," I said, grabbing my newspapers. "God bless you!"
"God bless you, too!"
I have been praying that Healed on the Inside will serve as a tool to start conversations about God’s power. And it's happening! God is indeed so good! I can’t wait to see what’s in store for my testimony and how God will help me share it.
